The magnificent gliding experience PDF Print E-mail

I had the most wonderful time this past Sunday and I have you to sincerely thank. The gliding experience was truly magnificent: unique, fascinating and a really great opportunity for me. I think that I learned more about physics, aerodynamics, safety and how to have fun than I have learned trying any other new activity since my injury.

There really aren’t many recreational activities that allow wheelchair-bound people to free themselves from their chairs. I’ve spoken to a number of friends since Sunday: some of them have been gliding with you before and some are keenly looking forward to trying it in the future. I think I can speak for many when I say that we sincerely hope that you are able to secure the necessary funding to meet your club’s goals and to put hand controls in one of the aircraft. It promises to be a wonderfully liberating, exotic experience for anybody who wants to get out of their wheelchair for a while.

Please let me know if there is a way that I can help you to pursue the funding goals. Your generosity and that of your club members is exceptional and will always be remembered very fondly by me.

Yours very sincerely,

Bridget Young
